Remote Computer View

How to remote view security camera.?
I have a security camera connected to a computer which is remotely connected via wi-fi and router to the internet. After installing the software on a another PC, it can’t connect me to the IP address of the remote PC.
Any suggestions?
Colin, you’re so smart. I can now view the camera using their software. Now how do I view with just the IP address and IE8?
It will need the public IP of the network, not the private. You will need to have forwarded the appropriate port required by the server software through the router to the internal address of the machine. You should set the internal address as static, and outside of the router dhcp pool. Also your public IP address is subject to change with no warning unless you are paying extra for a static address. And if you set up a single camera correctly on a computer, you should NOT need software on other machines, you should be able to view it in a web browser. When I install CCTV for people they always accept the DVR at nearly double the price of others but with pure web browser access, as it allows them to watch from sites where they can NOT install software like internet cafes and libraries, and from Mac and Linux machines. Otherwise they can only watch from a Windows machine where they are a trusted administrator.
